V&A Jewellery - This pendant is inspired by a Japanese Inro by Kakosai between 1850 and 1900. The original had a gold lacquer inlaid with pearl shell, horn and stained ivory. The Inro was a container used by Japanese men because the traditional kimono has no pockets and the Inro could hold items such as thier seal and ink, or medical suplies.

This piece was inspired from an object in The Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
