Worn during the annual State opening of Parliament, it features Cullinan II, the second largest diamond in the world - 2005 being the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the diamond in South Africa. Original in the Jewel House.
The crown was designed for Queen Victoria, and has been worn by virtually every monarch since. The original crown underwent several changes over the years, and was replaced by a new one in the same style for the coronation of George VI in 1936.
It was worn by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 at her Coronation, and is now worn annually at The State Opening of Parliament.
